Deck the Halls… or Just the Bottom Half of the Tree

Christmas tree? More like toddler jungle gym!

Decorating the Christmas tree with toddlers is less a festive activity and more a full-contact sport. It starts with good intentions: twinkling lights, delicate ornaments, and a vision of holiday perfection. Then the toddlers arrive, and suddenly, half the ornaments are bunched together at toddler eye-level, the star is missing (because someone decided it was a “magic wand”), and the dog is wearing tinsel like a superhero cape.

Pro tip: Embrace the chaos. Let them “help” by hanging the unbreakable ornaments, which will inevitably end up in clusters on one branch. Hand them a strand of lights—just not plugged in—and let them unravel it like a festive workout session. And when they decide to reenact Santa’s sleigh with the tree skirt? Grab your camera. You’ll treasure these memories… eventually.
